Introduction
The Kenya Ceramic Project is an exciting new international health pilot project aimed at introducing innovative ceramic water filters and high efficiency wood burning stoves to rural areas of Kenya. With the help of local NGOs and health clinics, potters in these areas will be trained to make the filters and stoves, in the hopes of increasing access to clean water and more efficient use of available fuels. The project will take place in the summer and fall of 2007 and early 2008, and will be led by students from the University of Alberta in conjunction with Life for Relief and Development and International Health Initiatives by Medical Students (IHIMS).
